Oasis believes that every person matters and, as a result develops community hubs that meet people’s holistic needs – educationally, physically, spiritually, economically, environmentally and socially – and benefit the whole person and the whole community.
Across Oasis, we are committed to the inclusion of everyone and empowering one another to reach our potential. In our community here in Waterloo, we repeatedly see the challenge of finding stable employment or career opportunities, in a climate where there is a lot of competition locally for jobs.
Alongside our community provision, we seek to empower local people to find employment, and work with local employers to reduce barriers to working that are common for our community. Across the year and through our services, we support individuals to develop essential skills, grow in confidence and esteem, and find pathways appropriate for them to get (back) into work that suits them.
This includes individual support work, as well as short courses, Lifeskills workshops, adult learning with partners such as Morley College, and signposting to other local initiatives with community partners like Coin Street Community Builders and The Bridge at Waterloo.
