LIVE-STREAMING GUIDELINES

Live-streaming using the ATEM Mini Pro

Setting up the equipment

  • The ATEM Mini Pro (AMP) lives on the sound desk, and the plug should be left next to it.
  • Next, set up the cameras – one on the tripod and one on the gorillapod, on the sound desk.
  • The cameras connect with HDMI/mini-HDMI leads:
    • There’s a long HDMI lead with a HDMI/mini-HDMI connector – plug this into the camera on the tripod and into input 1 on the back of the AMP.
    • The shorter HDMI/mini-HDMI lead connects the camera on the sound desk into input 2.
  • The monitor should already be connected to the HDMI out on the back of the AMP.
  • Connect the laptop via the USB-C lead attached to the AMP.
  • Connect the audio from the sound desk by plugging in the 3.5mm jack connected to the iRig

Setting up the software

  • Open ATEM Software Control and OBS software, and the Oasis Waterloo Facebook page.
  • OBS:
    • Check the Stream key is inputted correctly: Settings/Stream then click show next to Stream Key. It should be the following:

    • Next, click the + symbol under Sources, and select Video Capture Device, then click OK. Then click Device and select Blackmagic Design.

    • Hit ‘Still’ at the end to switch to the reflection questions.
  • com/oasiswaterloo
    • Click ‘Live’ next to Create
    • Check ‘Use stream key’ and ‘Use a persistent stream key’ are selected; then check the Stream key matches the one above, on OBS.
    • On the left-hand side, post a Title and copy-and-paste that into ‘Say something about this video’
  • When we’re ready to go live, hit ‘Start streaming’ on OBS, then ‘Go Live’ on Facebook.
  • When we switch to the reflection questions at the end of the talk, ask the volunteer on the sound desk to mute Matrix 1 – this will mute the sound on the live stream.
